Are you an early investor in cryptocurrency? The Cape independence movement needs funding to keep making progress. When a referendum is announced we will need a large marketing budget to support a ‘leave’ campaign, similar to the two Brexit leave campaigns. Yes, there were two.
The Cape of Good Hope Collective was launched as a crowdfunding initiative to support the Cape Independence movement with a focus on cryptocurrency donations. The project is raising funding for projects and teams working towards the creation Cape of Good Hope, the planned new country after the Western Cape secedes from South Africa.
The CoGH website reads: “We are a community of motivated people interested in accelerating the creation of a new country by funding important projects within the Cape Independence movement.”
There are currently five projects in the CoGH Collective: The Cape Independent - the news site you are reading now, The Referendum Party - a political party on all three the ballots for the upcoming election, The Cape Independence Advocacy Group - a well known lobby group, Cape Made - a buy-local campaign for the Western Cape, and YesCape - a leave campaign waiting for the referendum to be announced.
The CoGH website reads: “Our vision is to establish a First World future for the Cape of Good Hope. Our ultimate goal is to win the referendum and establish the world's newest country — a non-racial, first-world sovereign state at Africa's southern tip, the Cape of Good Hope. Independence, freedom, and prosperity!”
Why is this project needed?
Reaching out to the general public via social media for donations isn't always effective. While call centers might boost engagement, they can also inadvertently irritate those who aren't ready to contribute. That’s why this initiative is branching out to include international supporters currently living outside the Western Cape but who share our values and see themselves moving to the Cape of Good Hope in the future.
The cryptocurrency community, with its libertarian ethos of freedom, transparency, and open-source principles, aligns perfectly with our fundraising activities. It's a natural fit for supporting the vision and values we cherish.
Here are the core values and principles of a free and independent Cape, as outlined on the CIAG website:
By connecting with a global network that resonates with these ideals, we can collectively push forward towards a brighter First World future for Cape of Good Hope.
Future Vision for a Digital Cape
The Cape needs to broaden its economic horizons beyond tourism and fruit exports by fostering a tech-friendly environment that encourages innovation. Taking inspiration from countries like Portugal, which offers accelerated citizenship for investors, we can attract global talent and investment.
A free and independent Cape should aim to build a robust digital economy, similar to the successes seen in Estonia, which has become a hub for tech startups and GovTech initiatives.
To achieve this, we could implement initiatives like eEstonia, introducing digital nomad visas and an eCitizenship model. Additionally, we could streamline the process for granting formal citizenship to eCitizens who significantly contribute to our economy. This strategic focus will not only diversify our economic base but also position the Cape as a leader in digital innovation and governance.
Why support this project?
This is a pivotal moment to uphold Western values on African soil. By supporting our cause, you're contributing to preserving the Western Cape and ensuring a First World future for generations to come.
Your donation can make a real difference. It helps keep independent news thriving in the Western Cape and supports our push for a prosperous, innovative future.
