A delegation from the Solidarity Movement, led by Flip Buys and including AfriForum CEO Kallie Kriel and Solidarity CEO Dr. Dirk Hermann, held talks with senior Trump administration officials at the White House. The delegation thanked the Trump administration for spotlighting alleged human rights violations against Afrikaners and criticized the ANC’s policies and governance. Expressing gratitude for President Trump’s willingness to assist Afrikaners, they emphasized the need for focused pressure on ANC leaders rather than punitive measures such as ending South Africa’s participation in the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).
Concerns raised included the potential repercussions of the Expropriation Act, escalating racial tensions, and policies impacting Afrikaans schools, such as the BELA Act. Dr. Hermann also presented a detailed report on South Africa’s extensive racial legislation, framing these as threats to social and economic stability.
"The current diplomatic crisis was caused by the ANC. This is not just a minor diplomatic misunderstanding," said Dr. Hermann, underlining the gravity of the situation.
